IRC
Internet Relay Chat, or IRC, is a way that Internet users use to communicate with each other that predates instant messaging services such as AIM and ICQ. IRC is entirely text based, though clients exist that can do much more than just display a text window including massive scripting engines, file transfer capabilities, and more
Web-based IRC Client
KiwiIRC is a web-based IRC client which can even run in a frame embedded in another page. Since doing so on here would require another extension that I'm not installing at the moment, instead I present a link that will take you to the srhuston.net IRC server's default room where you can chat with others: https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.srhuston.net:+9999/#cworld
Using Your Own Client
Tell your favorite IRC client to connect to irc.srhuston.net:+9999 (that's port 9999 with SSL, or 6667 if you for some reason prefer an unencrypted connection). By default you should join the channel #cWORLD, where the majority of chatters hang out.
